Pirates split with Tigers, Dons in OEC regular season finale

HUNTINGTON BEACH -- The Orange Coast College women's volleyball team earned a split on Friday against Riverside City College and Santa Ana College in a three-way Orange Empire Conference matchup at the Newland Street volleyball courts.

After falling to the Tigers, 5-0, the Pirates (7-7 overall, 4-3 in OEC) returned to the "win" column with a 4-1 win over the Dons. At No. 1, the team of Megan Ritchie and Jadelyn Forgiarini rolled to a 21-19, 21-14 win over SAC's Viridiana Serrano and Mikelle Taylor.

OCC's No. 2 team of Measha Lindstrand and Sierra Lim took care of business against Destinee Blue and Miranda Moisa, 21-11, 22-20.

The Pirate duo of Amanda Kiralla and Keika Yoshizumi hung on for a 21-10, 23-21 win over Lily Reissmueler and Vianny Rubio, while at No. 5, Enjelica Glattli and Alexandra Hayes topped Dayne Bogosian and Filana Duvan, 21-16, 21-16.

Up next for the Pirates is the OEC Pairs Championships, which begins on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Newland Beach courts.
