Pirates finish second overall at OEC matchup

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's golf team finished second at Wednesday's Orange Empire Conference matchup with a team score of 365.

The Pirates are looking to finish the regular season with their best golf coming at the right time and on Wednesday, they finished just two shots ahead of the conference's top team, Cypress College (363). Saddleback finished third overall with a team score of 370, with Cuyamaca (372) taking fourth.

Michael Lin and Cathan Peterson-Cheek each conquered the Willow Glen Golf Course at even par with a pair of 72s for the afternoon. Joshua Land was close behind after firing a 1-over 73, followed by Sky Nam and Devin Keith, who each shot 2-over 74s. Sam Carrillo rounded out the scoring for the Pirates after carding an 82.

OCC will head to Oak Valley Golf Club on Monday at 10 a.m. for another OEC matchup before competing in the OEC championships in Palm Desert at the Classic Club on Monday, April 25.
