COSTA MESA -- Brice Manning had two goals and Thales Serra added a goal and two assists to lead the Orange Coast College men's soccer team to a 6-0 Orange Empire Conference win over visiting Cypress College on Tuesday at the OCC Soccer Complex.
The Pirates (7-4-2, 6-2-1 in OEC) have won three straight and are 6-1-1 over their last eight matches. The loss drops the Chargers to 3-10-3, 1-7-1.
It didn't take too long for Coast to take the lead and keep it as Jorge Sanchez sent in a corner kick right to Serra, who calmly deflected the ball into the net in the second minute of play, putting OCC up 1-0.
Just seven minutes later, a nice pass by Josh Madrid found a wide-open Sanchez, who tapped the ball off of his chest and ripped a mid-air shot over Chargers' goalkeeper Jerrod Johnson (six saves) to make it 2-0.
Coast capped off the first-half scoring when Pedro Erhechury took a feed from Serra and buried his shot into the back of the net in the 27th minute to make it 3-0.
The Chargers were their own worst enemy as a pair of red cards -- one in the 45th minute and one in the 51st minute -- put the guests down two players for the majority of the second half.
The Pirate reserves took advantage and scored three more times with two goals from Manning and a goal by Maximiliano Aceves.
OCC will return to action on Friday at home against Irvine Valley, beginning at 3 p.m.
