Four Pirates named to all-conference team

COSTA MESA -- Following another successful year of men's volleyball, the Orange Coast College Pirates landed four players onto this year's All-Pacific Coast Conference Team, as voted on by the conference's head coaches.

Two OCC standouts -- freshman outside hitter Adrian Faitalia and sophomore middle blocker Nick Amado -- earned first-team honors. Sophomore setter Steven Duhoux claimed a spot on the all-conference second team, while freshman Alec Podrasky earned third-team honors.

Faitalia led the Pirates (16-6) with 320 kills, 69 digs and 38 blocks. His 320 kills was just short of reaching OCC's single-season top-10 mark (Brian Lewis, 10th, 334 kills).

Amado was a solid force in the middle for Coast, notching 258 kills, a team-high 22 aces and a team-best 108 total blocks.

Duhoux, a sophomore transfer from Irvine Valley, made the most of his one year with the Pirates, dishing out 772 assists, good for 10th on OCC's single-season list. He also added 27 kills, 10 assists, 105 digs and 53 total blocks.

Podrasky came to OCC from Beloit Memorial (WI) High School and the first-year libero left his mark with the Pirates as well as the Peterson Gymnasium floor, leading the team with 227 digs, the fourth-best total for one season in school history.
