CYPRESS -- After a rough day in the pool against Saddleback just 24 hours earlier, the Orange Coast College men's water polo team regrouped and pulled out a 15-13 Orange Empire Conference win over host Cypress on Thursday.
Joshua Edwards led the Pirates with seven goals, while Aria Shahzad-Ghajar, Ethan Pranajaya and Ethan Igloi each added two goals. Solo tallies were contributed by Toby Jones and Kyle Jolas.
The goalie tandem of Henry Szczuka and Ethan Harris combined to hold off the Chargers and preserve the win with a combined nine saves.
Coast will return to action on Wednesday at Fullerton College (3 p.m.) before hosting Ventura (10:15 a.m.) and Grossmont (3 p.m.) on Saturday, Oct. 23 at the OCC Mini Tournament.
