Five Pirates selected to All-OEC team

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College softball team picked up five selections for this year's All-Orange Empire Conference team for their outstanding performances throughout the 2021 season.

Two Pirates -- infielder Amaya White and pitcher/infielder Hailey Pichardo -- earned first-team honors, while pitcher Kaitlyn Steffins, pitcher Madison Knight and outfielder Caitlin Bradley-Tse earned second-team honors.

White was a dominant force in the OCC lineup, batting .368 with a team-best 21 hits, nine doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI. 

Pichardo batted .279 with 12 hits and six RBI and as a pitcher, the righty went 2-2 with two complete games and a 5.44 ERA with 13 strikeouts. 

Steffins finished the season as OCC's top pitcher and compiled a 3-4 record with a 3.14 ERA, leading the team in complete games (4), innings pitched (49) and strikeouts (25).

Knight started eight games as a pitcher for the Pirates and hurled three complete games, posting a 2-5 record.

Bradley-Tse was a solid leadoff hitter for the Pirates, batting .372 with 16 hits, 15 runs and a team-best six stolen bases.
