Pirates place fourth at Cottonwood

EL CAJON -- The Orange Coast College women's golf took on a tough field of golfers as well as a tough course at Cottonwood Golf Club and finished fourth overall as a team on Wednesday in this week's Orange Empire Conference competition.

The Pirates, 18-18 overall in the OEC this year, carded a team score of 384, edging out host Cuyamaca (387) and Mt. San Jacinto (389) for the fourth spot in this week's matchup. Saddleback took the top team spot with a 327, followed by Fullerton (333) and College of the Desert (343).

Sophomore standouts Meah Collins and Emma Ashcraft battled for the top score amongst the OCC golfers, with Collins carding an 83 and Ashcraft posting an 84. Lexi Jaeger carded a 102 for OCC, while teammate Coco Fulton scored a 115.

Coast will take on the OEC competition on Monday at Fullerton Golf Club, beginning at 12 p.m.
