First-half goals keep Pirates unbeaten with 2-0 win over Seahawks

MONTEREY PARK -- The Orange Coast College women's soccer team continued its strong play to start the 2022 season with a 2-0 win over host L.A. Harbor College in a nonconference matchup on Tuesday night.

The Pirates (3-0-1) used a pair of first-half goals from Lily Carroll and Sydney Powell to pull away from the Seahawks (1-3) and the OCC defense managed to keep LAHC off the scoreboard the rest of the night.

Jessica Gardner picked up four saves in the win for OCC, while Powell and Brianna Calderon each had assists on the Pirate goals.

Coast will return to action on Friday at the OCC Soccer Complex to face Rio Hondo, beginning at 3 p.m.
