Bio

Longtime men's tennis head coach Chris Ketcham returns to run the Pirates' women's program for his second season.

After spending 2016 as the interim head coach, Ketcham guided the Pirates to the Orange Empire Conference title with a 7-1 record (13-3 overall) and was named the OEC Coach of the Year. 

During his tenure with the Coast men's tennis program, Ketcham has continued to raise the success of the Pirate program, making the playoffs and sending players onto four-year schools thanks to their success both on and off the tennis courts. Over the past nine years, Ketcham has guided the the Pirates to over 70 wins while competing in the always-tough Orange Empire Conference.

In his first two seasons as head coach, Ketcham helped guide the Pirates to back-to-back 12-5 seasons and in 2008, he was named the OEC Co-Coach of the Year.

In addition to his duties with men's tennis, Ketcham also helped out for the past three seasons as an assistant coach for the OCC men's soccer team.

Before coming to OCC, Ketcham was an assistant coach at Cypress College (2004-06) and at Irvine Valley College (2006-07).

For the past several years, Ketcham has been the director of the junior tennis program The Tennis Club. Currently a coach for several ranked local juniors, Ketcham has helped guide his club's junior teams to Southern California Sectional titles three different times (2005, 2006, 2007). 

Born in Newport Beach, Ketcham attended Newport Harbor High School and from there, he played soccer and tennis both at UC Irvine and at Chapman, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in psychology.
