LONG BEACH -- It was a day of strong times and marks for the Orange Coast College men's track and field team as they took on some of the top programs in Southern California at the Long Beach State Invitational this past weekend.

The Pirates earned three runner-up spots throughout the two-day event, including a second-place mark in the triple jump from Paul Domingue, Chett Clark in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and Ryan Rivituso in the 400.

Domingue came out strong and earned a mark of 43-feet, 5-inches, just two inches shy of event winner, Keyaun Sterling of Cerritos College (43-7 1/4).

Clark took on a top field and conquered the 3,000 steeplechase race with a runner-up time of 10 minutes, 34.39 seconds, four seconds ahead of Moorpark's Bradley Williams (10:38.01).

Rivituso and San Diego Mesa's Xavier Bradford led the way in the 400, with both runners breaking 50 seconds against a solid list of runners. Bradford took the top spot at 49.12, with Rivituso a close second at 49.87. Mt. San Antonio's Joshua Morinaga (50.69) finished third overall.
