Pirate softball goes 4-0 over Rustlers!

HUNTINGTON BEACH -- The Orange Coast College softball team made themselves right at home at the Golden West College softball complex with a pair of runaway wins over the host Rustlers on Friday.

Coast rolled to an 8-1 Orange Empire Conference win over GWC in the opener before routing the Rustlers, 14-1 in five innings in the nightcap.

Caitlin Bradley-Tse was the perfect table-setter for the Pirate offense in the opener, going 4-for-4 atop the batting order and scoring three runs. Hailey Pichardo, who pitched a complete game to pick up the win, helped her own cause at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a run and two RBI, while Serenity O'Nan added two hits and an RBI.

Pichardo allowed just five hits over seven innings with two walks and four strikeouts to improve her record to 2-2.

In the nightcap, OCC pitcher Madison Knight needed just five innings to record her win as she held the Rustlers to no hits for the game.

While Knight was silencing the Rustlers, the OCC offense was in full swing as the Pirates pounded out 13 hits and scored 14 runs over five innings. Ashley Diaz went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI, while Korynna Anderson added three hits, two runs and three RBI. Eva Moore also had a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored.

The Pirates, winners of five of their last seven games, will play at Mt. San Antonio College on Tuesday in a nonconference matchup, beginning at 6 p.m.
