Pirates win fourth straight with sweep over Warriors

TORRANCE -- It's been a successful start to the 2025 season for the Orange Coast College women's volleyball team as the Pirates improved to 4-0 on Wednesday night with a three-set sweep over El Camino College.
Anjali Clinton had a team-best 12 kills and seven digs to lead the way for the Pirates in their 25-9, 25-18, 25-18 win. Nika Safavi added nine kills and seven digs, while Joey Payan knocked down five kills. Setters Dezi Butler and Sophie Vienna combined for 36 assists for Coast.
Wednesday's win came on the heels of Friday's four-set win at Ventura College on Friday night. In the win over the VC Pirates, Safavi paced the offense with 23 kills and 21 digs. Kayla Ihrig added 17 kills and 20 digs, with Vienna dishing out 46 assists to along with a team-best 24 digs.
Coast will return to action on Friday at the Glendale quad and will take on College of the Desert at 1 p.m. and host Glendale at 3:30 p.m.
