Pirate ladies duo earn spot at State Meet

BAKERSFIELD -- The Orange Coast College women's cross country team has been limited by numbers, but the quality has outshined the quantity with the standout performances of Annabelle Boudreau and Whitney Johnson, who each earned a trip to the State Meet after finishing strong at the Southern California Regional Meet on Friday at the Kern Country Soccer Fields.

Boudreau and Johnson took on an elite field and a tough 5k course and both finished strong for the Pirates. Boudreau finished 48th overall with a time of 20 minutes, 26.22 seconds, while Johnson finished 66th with a time of 21:07.65.

With both times within the top-50 times of runners who were NOT on qualifying teams, the OCC duo will continue their 2022 season for one final meet ... the California Community College Athletic Association State Meet, which will take place on Saturday, Nov. 19 at Fresno's Woodward Park, beginning at 10 a.m.
