Coast nearly pulled out all five matches, but the Roadrunners managed to hold overcome an opening-set loss and win a three-set thriller, 16-21, 21-11, 16-14, in the No. 3 match.

In the afternoon matchup against the Vaqueros, Coast (3-4 overall), cruised in the opening two pairs, led again by the teams of Ritchie/Forgiarini (21-5, 21-10) and Lindstrand/Lim (21-17, 21-8) and at No. 4 with Che/Ellingsen (21-6, 21-16). In the No. 3 match, the team of Amanda Kiralla and Tayler Jaramillo overcame an opening set loss to rally for a 13-21, 21-16, 15-11 win.

The No. 5 pair of Glattli/Hayes won by forfeit and topped Ventura College's Renae Ellis and Madison Bolish in an exhibition match, 15-21, 22-20, 15-6. It was that duo's third match and third victory of the day, thanks to an earlier exhibition win over Desert's Jade Adair and Aaliyah Charley, 21-6, 21-16.

Coast will return to the Huntington Beach courts on Friday to take on Cypress College, beginning at 11 a.m.
