Bio
Returning to Orange Coast College for his third season with the Pirates is Twin Fernandes.
Prior to his stint with OCC, Fernandes coached for two seasons at Golden West College under head coach Nick Mitchell. GWC was ranked No. 2 in the country in his first year and in 2016, he helped a defensive unit that produced 24 turnovers.
Prior to his coaching career, Fernandes was a standout defensive back at Los Alamitos HS before continuing his football career at the El Camino College Compton Center. At Compton, Fernandes was a unanimous selection as the Mountain Conference American Division's Defensive Player of the Year after leading the team with 85 tackles and 45 solo stops.
From there Fernandes played football at Youngstown State and West Virginia State, where he earned his degree in psychology.
