Pirates fare well in Row for the Cure regatta

SAN DIEGO -- The Orange Coast College men's crew headed down to Mission Bay to compete in the 2015 Row for the Cure regatta on Sunday and the results were solid, according to first-year OCC head coach Cam Brown.

The Pirates entered three squads in the Men's Open 8+ and competed against a crew from UC San Diego and two entries from UCLA.  UCSD placed first with the OCC 'A' entry 6 seconds behind in second place.  OCC also placed third and fifth, respectively, with UCLA in fourth and sixth positions.

"The Coast Crews were able to get good experience of racing in preparation for our upcoming regattas and identified several areas to work on in the coming weeks," Brown said.

Coast will race in San Pedro for at the Head of the Harbor regatta, hosted by USC, on Nov. 8.
