Pirates pull away from Hawks for 6-1 victory

ORANGE -- The Orange Coast College men's soccer team made it two in a row against the Santiago Canyon Hawks and rolled to a 6-1 Orange Empire Conference win on Tuesday at SCC.

Coast carried a 26-13 shot advantage in the match and found the back of the next six times. Goals by Damiano Floresta and Qhawe Makaula helped push the Pirates to a 2-1 lead at the end of the first half.

From there, the Pirates left the Hawks in their dust as two goals from Daichi Someya sparked a 4-0 second half. Saif Shaker and Nico Pacheco also scored for Coast, while in goal, the tandem of Adam Guillen and Michael Matzuy combined for four saves.

OCC will wrap up the regular season at Santa Ana College on Thursday, beginning at 3 p.m.
