Pirates capture second overall at OEC meet

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's swimming and diving team hosted the Orange Empire Conference on Friday at the OCC Aquatics Pavilion and there, the Pirates finished second overall with 645 points.

OCC's rivals up the road, Golden West, took the top spot with 677, followed by the Pirates, Riverside (373), Saddleback (331), Fullerton (16) and Cypress (8).

400 freestyle relay (Masa Araki, Darius Walach, Ryan Xu, Gideon Stemmons -- 3:16.68.

400 individual medley -- Christian Perez, 4:12.39

500 freestyle -- Brandon Samaniego, 4:42.27

50 freestyle -- Stemmons, 21.18

100 butterfly -- Kevin Li, 52.6

200 freestyle -- Araki, 1:43.86

100 breaststroke -- Perez, 56.65

200 backstroke -- Araki, 2:01.07

200 breaststroke -- Perez, 2:04.36

400 medley relay (Araki, Xu, Roman Christenot, Dylan Bertino) -- 3:30.53

The Pirates will return to action on April 5-6 when they host the OCC Invitational, beginning at 9 a.m.
