Pirates pull out 5-4 win over Hornets
COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's tennis team improved to 11-6 for the season with a 5-4 Orange Empire Conference win over visiting Fullerton College on Thursday at the OCC Tennis Complex.
Thanks to a shorthanded Hornets squad, the Pirates picked up a pair of wins by way of default. In doubles, the team of Thiago Cintra/Will Davis cruised to an 8-2 win, while in singles play, Davis outlasted Jules Pillet (5-7, 6-1, default) and Ryan Magers rolled to a 6-0, 6-3 win over Michael Lumang.
Coast returns to the home courts on Friday in a nonconference matchup with Mt. San Antonio, beginning at 2 p.m.
