Pirates ground Jets in three

SAN DIEGO -- The Orange Coast College men's volleyball made quick work over San Diego Miramar College in their first-ever matchup, sweeping past the Jets, 25-16, 25-21, 25-11, on Wednesday night in a Pacific Coast Conference matchup.

Adrian Faitalia led the way with nine kills, while Nick Amado added six kills and three blocks. Brandon Dau added four kills to go along with a team-best seven digs.

Steven Duhoux paced the offense with 22 assists, while Sean Keyes came in and added nine assists of his own.

In the middle, the trio of Kyle Hurst, Torrey Smith and Chris Horner each had four total blocks as the Pirates (6-3, 2-1 in PCC) notched 21 total blocks in all.

Coast will continue PCC action on Friday at San Diego City College (6 p.m.). OCC's next home match will take place on Friday against Grossmont, also at 6 p.m.
