Pirates make quick work of Hornets

FULLERTON -- The Orange Coast College men's water polo team felt right at home inside the waters of the Fullerton College pool as the Pirates cruised to a 23-2 Orange Empire Conference win over the host Hornets on Wednesday.

The Pirates (11-4 overall, 3-1 in the OEC) scored early and often against the Hornets and put the match away in the opening minutes. Coast jumped out to a 10-0 lead after the first quarter and pushed the advantage to 14-0 midway through the second quarter before the Hornets snapped the shutout with a goal. Fullerton scored again three minutes later, but that would be it as the Pirates pitched a shutout over the final two quarters of play.

Ethan Igloy scored five goals to lead the OCC offense, while Joshua Edwards added three and Caden Martin tossed in two.
