Pirate men claim fourth at Bronco Invitational

SANTA CLARA -- The Orange Coast College men's cross country team headed up north to Santa Clara University's Bronco Invitational and the Pirates picked up a fourth-place team finish on Saturday afternoon.

The Pirates finished with 105 points, topped only by the Davis XC & Track Club (39), the Cal Poly Distance Club (64) and Arizona's Emery Riddle University (95).

Galyn Nash was OCC's top runner, finishing the 8K course with a time of 25 minutes, 19.7 seconds, sixth-best among team/club competitors. Eamon Smythe placed 11th with a time of 25:35, while Oscar Salas earned a 20th-place time of 25:56.8.

Other top times for the Pirates were turned in by Danny Dominguez (26:14.9), Daniel Vargas (26:19.1), Adolfo Cruz (26:26.8) and Joseph Martinez (26:29.6).

Coast will return to action on Friday at Cal State Fullerton for the 2015 Titan Invitational, beginning at 4 p.m.
