Pirate men finish 10th at CCCAA State Meet

FRESNO -- The Orange Coast College men's cross country team finished 10th overall to wrap up another successful season on Saturday, Nov. 21 at the California Community College Athletic Association State Cross Country Meet, held at Woodward Park.

Coast finished with a team score of 256. American River won the 2015 title with a score of 67, while Mt. SAC (116) placed second and College of the Canyons (123) took third.

Two OCC runners -- freshman Galyn Nash and sophomore Eamon Smythe -- cracked the top 30 for the Pirates. Nash finished the four-mile course in 24th place with a time of 21 minutes, 8.6 seconds, while Smythe wrapped up his Pirate career with a 30th-place time of 21:15.4.

Other Coast times were turned in by Oscar Salas (21:18.7), Danny Dominguez (21:43.5), Alex Perez (22:24.1), Daniel Vargas (22:34.5) and Joseph Martinez (22:35.6).
