COSTA MESA -- It wasn't the prettiest performance, but the Orange Coast College softball team managed to walk off in style as the Pirates slipped past visiting Golden West, 7-6, on Friday to wrap up the 2021 season.

Forever Pirates -- Cayla Ezelle

Our second installment of Forever Pirates to wrap up Softball Week is courtesy of Cayla Ezelle, who attended Orange Coast College from 2015-17. As a sophomore, Ezelle batted .451 with 46 hits, 11 doubles, two home runs and 31 RBI.
Forever Pirates -- Sarah Hamre

Our first of two Forever Pirate features this week is courtesy of former Coast first baseman Sarah Hamre, who attended OCC from 2017-18 before moving on to Denison University. As a Pirate, Hamre batted .301 with 28 hits, four home runs and 18 RBI during the 2018 season.

We kick off Softball Week, with a "10 Questions" feature on Pirate returner Jaelyn Operana. Playing infield, outfield and pitcher, Operana batted a team-best .382 for the Pirates last year and struck out 29 batters in 57-plus innings of work before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
