Lewis qualifies for CCCAA championships after impressive regional performance!

SOLVANG -- Orange Coast College freshman golfer Emily Lewis shot a two-round total of 165 at the 2015 Southern California Regional Women's Golf Championships on Sunday and Monday at Alisal Golf Course, earning her a spot at next week's CCCAA State Championships.

Lewis opened her event by shooting a 10-over-par, 82 on Sunday and followed that up with an 11-over, 83. Her two-day score was good enough to earn the Los Alamitos grad a spot at next week's California Community College Athletic Association's Women's Golf Championships, set for Sunday and Monday at the Morro Bay Golf Course.

Pirate teammate September Mirghanbari did not qualify for the state tournament, but still managed to shoot a season-best 83 in her final round on Monday at the SoCal Regionals. She finished with a two-round total of 177, which was fifth-best among the individual golfers who qualified for the event.
