Pirates wrap up OEC season at Temecula Creek

TEMECULA -- Against a tough golf course and some wet conditions on Day 2, the Orange Coast College women's golf team survived it all and finished strong at the two-round Orange Empire Conference Women's Golf Championships last week at Temecula Creek Golf Club.

In the opening round of play, the Pirates finished fifth overall with a team score of 387 before taking sixth on Day 2 with a 408.

OCC's DeLylah Collins led the way with two steady rounds at the tournament. On Day 1, she carded an 89 and followed that up with an 88 on Day 2.

Other solid Pirate scores were turned in by Cathy Nguyen (90-100), Coco Fulton (102-111), Madison Keawe-Kimball (112-115), Taylor Tuxford (106-117) and Madison Giles (113-109).

The Pirates will continue their season at the Southern California Regional Finals, set for Sunday and Monday at Simi Hills Golf Course in Simi Valley.
