HUNTINGTON BEACH -- The Orange Coast College women's soccer team continued its strong play late in the Orange Empire Conference portion of the season with an impressive 3-0 win at Golden West College on Tuesday afternoon.
The Pirates (8-5-3 overall, 7-3-2 in conference), needed only three minutes to score the game's first goal as Sydnee Busby took a pass from Nicole Lombardo and found the back of the net, putting Coast up for good.
It stayed that way until the 61st minute, when Samantha Lombardo took a nice pass from Emma Gomez and made it 2-0 in favor of the Pirates.
The icing on the cake came in the final minute of play when Busby notched her second goal of the match, this time from a pass from Karla Romero, to cap off the scoring for the Pirates.
Odalis Elias earned the shutout with with five saves as Coast improved to 6-3-1 over its last 10 contests.
The win moves the Pirates to within one point behind third-place Cypress in the OEC standings with four matches remaining.
OCC will host Irvine Valley on Friday at 3 p.m.
