MONTEREY PARK -- The Orange Coast College women's swim continue to rank among the best aquatic programs in the state and the 2023 Pirates kept that tradition alive with a solid third-place team finish at the California Community College Athletic Association Swim/Dive State Championships on Saturday at East Los Angeles College.

MONTEREY PARK -- The Orange Coast College women's swim team is joining Sierra College and Santa Monica City College for the race to the top of the platform after a solid Day 1 performance at the California Community College Athletic Association State Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday at East Los Angeles College.

Last year, Santa Monica College's Risa Akatsu was the Swimmer of the Meet at the state championships. Akatsu is back and she's bringing reinforcements as the Corsairs are ready to challenge 3-time, defending champion Orange Coast while Santa Barbara City, Palomar, and Sierra also are in the potential mix at the 2023 3C2A Swimming and Diving Championships. The state meet once again will be held at East Los Angeles College's Swim Stadium Thursday-Saturday, May 4-6.
