Miller paces OCC trio at State Meet

FRESNO -- Freshman Liberty Miller capped off a solid 2023 season with a top-25 finish at the 3C2A Women's Cross Country State Championships on Nov. 18 at Woodward Park.

Miller -- one of three OCC runners to qualify for the 167-runner finals -- conquered the 5K course and finished 21st overall with a time of 19:12.21, just 15 seconds behind earning All-American honors ... not too shabby for a freshman!

Sophomore Jaysi Reyes finished 63rd in the state with a time of 20:31.25, while teammate Alexis Gilboy was close behind with a time of 20:56.63 (82nd place).

Individual state champion honors went to San Diego Mesa's Alexis Noble, who beat out Ventura's Sophia Godina at the finish line with a time of 17:54.77. Godina finished second with a 17:56.06, with Glendale's Samantha Medrano a minute behind for third place at 18:06.49.
