Thanks to his Coast days and beyond, Chris Clark has become one of the most coveted names in sport of rowing. While rowing at OCC, Stanford and the University of California from 1979–1983, Clark won Pacific Coast Championships in 1978, 1979 (both at OCC) and 1982. He rowed in the 6 seat for the OCC Crew that earned a trip to the Henley Royal Regatta in 1979. As a sophomore at Coast he was named team Captain and was one of the first recipients of the prestigious Maruja crew scholarship.
The son of Frank Clark – former business professor at OCC, Chris Clark earned a special diploma in social studies in 1987 from University College Oxford. He has rowed and medaled in regattas in the U.S. and nine foreign countries from 1979 to present day. As a member of the U.S. National Rowing team, Clark earned a silver medal at the 1983 Pan American Games and helped his crew to a seventh-place performance at the 1985 World Rowing Championship. Clark has coached the American team at the 2002 U-23 World Championships and has several years of international coaching experience. He currently is the head coach at the University of Wisconsin, a job he has had since 1996.
