Bio
You won’t find Rachel Hamilton’s name on any OCC sports records or championship trophies, nor will you see it on any classroom building or on any street sign around campus. However, Hamilton is now a prestigious member of OCC’s Alumni Hall of Fame and the OCC Athletics Hall of Fame. A 1958 graduate of OCC, Rachel served on the college’s staff for many years, most notably as the Athletic Secretary from 1977-89, where she was perhaps Coast’s top recruiter during her tenure. From there, Rachel worked at the Coast Community College District from 1989-93, where she retired as the Secretary to the Vice President. Rachel is a founding member of the OCC Alumni & Friends, The Emeritus Institute and Alumni Hall of Fame committees. A tireless volunteer, Rachel also represents the City of Costa Mesa on the Airport Working Group (AWG) of Orange County and is a member of the Costa Mesa Historical Society, the OCC Friends of the Library and the Mexican-American National Association (MANA) for women.
