Bio

The all-time career leader in rushing yardage (1,873 yards) and scoring (210 points) at Orange Coast, Tony Accomando led the Pirates to a perfect record and the mythical national championship in 1975, when he scored 29 touchdowns. He set more than a dozen OCC rushing and scoring marks and was the first Pirate to gain more than 1,000 yards on the ground (1,155 in 1975) in a season. For his efforts, he was named OCC's "Male Athlete of the Year" in 1975-76. Earning a full scholarship to Texas Christian University, Accomando was a two-year starter at running back and flanker. He returned to California after completing his collegiate career, settling in the Riverside area and earning is B.A. degree in business marketing at Cal State San Bernardino.
