Pirates take second overall at Eagle Golf Invitational

SAN JACINTO -- The Orange Coast College men's golf team went to work and posted LOW numbers on Wednesday as the Pirates finished second overall at the 2024 Eagle Golf Invitational at Soboba Springs Golf Club.

The Pirates, facing a 10-team field and a handful of top individual golfers, finished second overall with a team score of 381, just three shots behind first-place Reedley College (378). Mt. San Antonio College finished third overall with a 387, followed by Cuyamaca (391), College of the Desert (393) and El Camino (399).

Coast had all five golfers shooting 80 or lower, with sophomore Zach Iwashita leading the way with a 2-over-par, 74. Wyatt Tucker and Tiger Tahvildari each shot a 75, followed by Nathan Rhee (77) and Jordan Fahy (80).

Iwashita's 74 was just one shot off of the low round of the day, which was turned in by Riverside City College's Vincent Chen and Reedley's Ricky Sullivan.

Coast will return to action on Monday at the Riverside Invitational at Victoria Country Club, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
