Pirate women finish ninth at Titan Invitational

FULLERTON -- The Orange Coast College men's cross country team took on another star-studded field of two- and four-year runners and finished ninth overall at the 2018 Cal State Fullerton Titan Invitational on Friday.

The Pirates wrapped up a ninth-place team mark of 252 points in a race that featured teams from Loyola Marymount, Western New Mexico, Chapman University, Biola and CSUF, among others.

Freshman standout Megan Silves was once again the top runner for the Pirates, finishing 23rd overall with a 5,000-meter time of 18 minutes, 58.2 seconds.

Other top times for the Pirates include Andrea Anaya (19:55.3), Valeria Rodriguez (21:14.9), Angelie Jaimes (21:17.2), Jackie Ojeda (21:54.1), Stephanie Valentin (22:31.3), Sarahi Terrones (22:40.5) and Yuridia Perez (24:12.8).

Up next for the Pirates will be the 2018 Orange Empire Conference Cross Country Championships, hosted by Riverside City College, on Friday, beginning at 9 a.m.
