HUNTINGTON BEACH -- The Orange Coast College beach volleyball team opened the 2020 season with a pair of solid wins on Friday, beating Glendale, 5-0, before edging Mt. San Antonio, 3-2 on the Newland Volleyball Courts.

It was smooth sailing for the Pirates (2-0) in the opener as all five matches were won in convincing fashion. In the second matchup of the day, the Mounties (0-2) picked up wins in the No. 3 match as well as the No. 5 match, but the remaining three contests went to Coast. At No. 1, Johnson and Snider battled Mt. SAC's Macy Barnes and Carolina Unquita in a tough match, before prevailing, 21-19, 21-18.
