Pirates double-up Mounties, 6-3
WALNUT -- The Orange Coast College men's tennis team hit the road and returned to Costa Mesa with an impressive 6-3 nonconference win over Mt. San Antonio College on Tuesday afternoon.
The Pirates (4-5) showed the depth of this year's team and picked up four singles wins from the Nos. 2-6 spots, including straight-set victories from Nick Tran (6-3, 6-2), Khalid Alsadek (6-0, 6-3), Farress Sorial (6-1, 6-2) and Nao Sone (6-4, 6-2).
Carrying a 4-2 lead after singles play, the Pirates continued to flourish in doubles play as the teams of Malik Thiaw/Nicholas Brockie (8-6) and Sorial/Jake Hastings (8-3) came through for Coast.
The Pirates and Mounties will wrap up the season on Tuesday at Mt. SAC, beginning at 2 p.m.
