Pirates take care of business with 7-2 win over Hornets
COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College men's tennis team returned to the win column with a 7-2 victory over visiting Fullerton on Tuesday in an Orange Empire Conference matchup.
Coast picked up three hard-fought wins in singles against the Hornets, led by No. 1 Malik Thiaw (7-6, 6-4), Khalid Alsadek (2-6, 7-5, 10-6), Farress Sorial (6-1, 3-6, 6-4), while Nick Tran and Nicholas Brockie won by default.
Tran and Jake Hastings picked up a solid 8-5 win over the FC duo of Scott Maritt and Jeff Lawton, while the No. 3 doubles match was won by default.
The same two teams will go at in on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Fullerton College.
