Pirates fare well in Chapman Regatta

NEWPORT BEACH -- Under ideal conditions, the Orange Coast College women's crew battled several top schools at the Chapman Regatta on April 14 and the Pirates did more than hold their own against the competition.

Coast picked up a pair of victories throughout the event, winning the Varsity 4 race and the Novice 8 event.

In the Varsity 4, Coast held on down the stretch of the 2,000-meter course and posted a winning time of 7:34.8, one second ahead of runner-up Long Beach State (7:35.82).
