Assayag, Buede moving on to Concordia University

COSTA MESA -- A pair of Orange Coast College beach volleyball players -- Alyssa Assayag and Adelle Buede -- will continue their athletic and academic careers at Concordia University, according to head coach Chuck Cutenese.

Buede was teamed with Tiffany Boykin for the majority of the season and they advanced to the Sweet 16 of the California Community College Athletic Association State Beach Volleyball Championship after defeating Feather River College's Stacey Witt and Jessica Martinez, 21-18, 23-25, 15-8.

Prior to the state tournament, Buede and Boykin advanced to the semifinals of the Orange Empire Conference Championships with a win over Riverside City College's Sabrina Gonzaga and Marisa Viapando in the Elite Eight.

Assayag played with OCC teammate Danyelle Brown for the entire 2016 season and the Pirate duo went 4-6 overall before reaching the Round of 32 at the Orange Empire Conference Tournament.

Prior to her beach volleyball stint at Coast, Assayag played on the indoor volleyball team for the 2013 and 2014 seasons, where she had 27 kills and 12 blocks over her Pirate career.
