Pirates go 1-2 at Mt. SAC Tournament

WALNUT -- The Orange Coast College men's basketball team went 1-2 at last weekend's Mt. San Antonio College Tournament, winning the opener against Cerro Coso (73-70) on Friday before falling to Saddleback (91-58) on Saturday and to the host Mounties (90-88 OT) on Sunday.

In the opener against Cerro Coso, Kekai Smith led the Pirates (2-7) with 22 pints, five rebounds and three steals, while Malik Skillern came off the bench to provide 15 points, including four made 3-pointers. Jonathan Ileleji chipped in 14 points and four rebounds, while Nate Harding provided 11 points, three rebounds and three assists.

Against Saddleback on Saturday, Leonard Stallings led OCC with 12 points, while Harding added 11 points and five rebounds.

Coast will return to action on Friday at MiraCosta College, beginning at 5 p.m. OCC will be on the road for the next few weeks before returning to the Peterson Gym on Wednesday, Jan. 23 against Saddleback, beginning at 5 p.m.
