Pirates take second place at Tustin Ranch

TUSTIN -- The Orange Coast College men's golf team placed second overall at Monday's Orange Empire Conference matchup, hosted by Irvine Valley, shooting a team score of 383.

The Pirates, fighting neck and neck with first-place Cypress atop the OEC Standings, finished just six shots behind the Chargers (377) on Monday, followed by Riverside (384), Saddleback (400), Mt. San Antonio (407) and IVC (433).

OCC's low score came from Taka Inoue, who carded an even-par 72, just one shot off of the low round of the day, turned in by Cypress' Dalton Davenport.

Connor O'Hern was close behind with a 73, Chris Casey carded a 78 and Bryson Brantley and Mike Stephens each came in with an 80.

With the second-place score, Coast is 16-4 in OEC play, just two wins behind first-place Cypress (18-2) with Mt. San Antonio and Riverside (each 9-11) far behind in third place.

The Pirates and the rest of the OEC will head to Industry Hills for their next matchup, set for Monday at 11 a.m.
