Cardenas, Beldi earn first-team, All-Orange Empire Conference honors
A pair of sophomores from the Orange Coast College men's soccer team – Nicholas Cardenas and Achref Beldi – earned first-team, All-Orange Empire Conference honors for the 2018 season, as voted on by the conference's head coaches at their end-of-season meeting.
Cardenas, a two-time, first-team, all-conference selection for the Pirates, led the conference with 14 goals and 35 points and finished off his Coast career with 27 goals and 15 assists for 69 points.
Beldi, a second-team, all-conference selection in 2017, improved on his freshman numbers to score 11 goals with seven assists for a two-year total of 20 goals and 14 assists. His 11 goals were second in the OEC, behind Cardenas, while his seven assists were tied for third-most in conference play.
Freshmen goalkeeper Thiago Lino Da Costa (1.33 goals against average, 1,755 minutes played) earned second-team, All-OEC honors, as did freshman defender Cayden Bonner.
