Pirate men take fifth overall at Biola Invitational

FULLERTON -- Led by a pair of top-50 performances, the Orange Coast College men's cross country earned a fifth-place finish at the 2023 Biola Invitational, hosted by Biola University, on Friday at Craig Regional Park.

Freshman Jimmy Dominguez was the Pirates' top runner, finishing the 8K Craig Park course in 21st place with a time of 26 minutes, 13.3 seconds. His time was the fastest among all runners from two-year programs. 

Not too far behind Dominguez was OCC teammate Carlos Ramos, who placed 33rd with a time of 26:47.4. Other top Coast times were turned in by William Spangler (27:41.7), Lance Copp (28:12.1), Don Molina (28:12.2), Caden Guardino (28:16.3), Farhaan Safi (28:56.6), Anthony Bernal (29:07), Andrew Hernandez (29:12.5), Viencent Luong-Kha (29:26.1), Damian Martinez (29:41.2), Ronald Nguyen (31:57.9) and Emiliano Gonzalez (32:43.4). 

Next up for the Pirate runners will be a trip to El Dorado Park for the 2023 SoCal Preview Meet, which will take place on Friday, beginning at 9 a.m.
