Pirates take fifth at Biola Invitational
FULLERTON -- The Orange Coast College men's cross country team finished fifth overall out of 15 teams at the Biola University Invitational on Friday at Craig Park.
Running against top two- and four-year programs in the area, the Pirates finished with 167 points, trailing only host Biola (28), The Master's (33), Vanguard University (123) and Riverside City College (140).
Top OCC runner went to freshman Moises Bailon, who took on the rugged 8K course and a top-field of runners and finished 36th overall with a time of 25 minutes, 59.9 seconds.
Close behind Bailon for the Pirates included Caden Guardino (26:27.1), Nathan Garcia (26:35.6), Lance Copp (26:53.4), William Spangler (26:54.3), Chance Calinan (27:04.9), Andres Guillen (27:21.8), Farhaan Safi (27:37.4), Willian Dang (27:59.7), Peter Cao (29:01) and Ramsey Serrano (30:17.7).
The Pirates will return to competition on Friday at the Golden West Invitational, located at Central Park in Huntington Beach, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
