Barnes leads Pirates to pair of OEC wins
DIAMOND BAR -- Orange Coast College freshman women's golfer Alexa Barnes came up with the low round of the day for the Pirates during their Orange Empire Conference matchup at Diamond Bar Golf Club.
Barnes, a Huntington Beach HS, took on the par-73 course and show an very respectible 84 to lead the Pirates to a team score of 380. It was her lowest single-round score in her brief OCC career and the lowest score of any Pirate golfer this season.
Other scores for the Pirates during Wednesday's round included Alisa Irwin (96), Nicole Jenkins (100) and Breanna Gutierrez (100).
The Pirates will resume action on Monday, Oct. 6 at El Prado Golf Club as Mt. San Antonio hosts the next OEC match, beginning at 11 a.m.
