Pirates claim fifth overall at Titan Invitational

FULLERTON -- The Orange Coast College women's cross country team notched a fifth-place team result at the 2017 Cal State Fullerton Titan Invitational on Friday afternoon.

Sophomore standout Jennilee Reyes notched OCC's top spot of the race with a 5K time of 18 minutes, 25.6 seconds, which placed her 10th out of the 88-runner field that featured some of the top two- and four-year running programs in the area.

Other top times for the Pirates were turned in by Mary Curran (19:51.1), Michelle Morgan (20:38.6), Elizabeth Diaz Cortes (21:40.2), Spenser Vigeland (22:06) and Yuridia Perez (24:05.1). 

With the Titan Invitational completed, the postseason races now begin for the Pirates, starting with the Orange Empire Conference Championships, set for Thursday at 9 a.m. at Oso Viejo Park.

From there, Coast will compete at the Southern California Regionals, set for Friday, Nov. 3 at Central Park in Santa Clarita, followed by the CCCAA State Championships on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Fresno's Woodward Park.
