Miller paces Pirates with fifth-place time at Vanguard Invitational
ORANGE -- The Orange Coast College women's cross country team put forth some strong times in Friday's season-opening race -- the 2023 Vanguard Invitational -- hosted by Vanguard University at Irvine Regional Park.
Leading the way for OCC was freshman Liberty Miller, who went up against two- and four-year runners and finished the 5K course in fifth place overall with a time of 20 minutes, 33.32 seconds.
Teammate Jaysi Reyes was 13th overall with a time of 21:52.2, followed by Alexis Gilboy (18th, 22:21.64) and Jennifer Pineda (23rd, 27:51.41).
The Pirates will return to racing action on Friday at the Biola Invitational, located at Craig Regional Park, beginning at 8 a.m.
