Pirates keep rolling with 4-1 win over Saddleback
MISSION VIEJO -- The strong play from the Orange Coast College beach volleyball team continued on Friday with a solid 4-1 Orange Empire Conference road win at Saddleback College.
OCC (6-5 overall, 3-1 in conference) picked up straight-set wins from the teams of Megan Ritchie/Jadelyn Forgiarina (21-11, 21-12), Measha Lindstrand/Sierra Lim (21-13, 21-13) and Enjelica Glattli/Alexandra Hayes (21-18, 21-6).
The No. 3 match of the day saw the team of Tayler Jaramillo/Hayley Ellingsen drop its first set, 13-21, only to come back and win the last two sets, 22-20, 15-9 to highlight the Pirates' afternoon.
The loss drops the Gauchos to 1-8 overall, 0-4 in the OEC.
Coast will return to the Huntington Beach/Newland volleyball courts on Friday against rival Golden West College, beginning at 11 a.m.
