Munson, Hagger highlight OCC all-conference selections

COSTA MESA -- Several members of the Orange Coast College football team earned spots on this year's All-SCFA, Northern Division, Southern League team, as selected by the division's head coaches.

The Pirates had two players earn unanimous first-team honors -- sophomore wide receiver Mark Munson and freshman tight end Davasyia Hagger, while nine others earned second-team honors.

Munson produced one of the top receiving seasons in school history with 68 catches for 989 yards and eight touchdowns. His 68 receptions were the most in school history (63 by Ray Ohrel in 1999) and his 989 receiving yards were the second-most in school history behind only Junior Tagaloa's 1,190 set in 1987.

Hagger was a steady second option for the Pirates, amassing 43 receptions for 620 yards and six touchdowns. His 43 catches were ninth-best for one season in school history, while his 620 yards are 10th-best all time in the Coast record books.

Second-team honors for OCC went to offensive linemen Brett Landon and Jeff Mansfield, running back Kyle White (119 carries, 581 yards, five touchdowns), quarterback Kody Whitaker (175-314, 2,093 yards, 16 touchdowns, seven interceptions -- fourth-most completions and third-most attempts for one season in school history), defensive lineman Re'Shon Howard (67 tackles, four sacks, one interception), linebacker Mike Hayden (69 tackles, 39 solo, one sack, one fumble recovery), linebacker Paul Swanson (team-best 73 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one interception, six pass breakups), cornerback Derrick Worthy (27 tackles, 17 solo, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one interception, seven pass breakups) and punter Jake Ambrose (55 punts, 40.3 average, 15 punts inside the 20).
