Howard signs with Concordia University (MN)

COSTA MESA -- Another Orange Coast College football standout is moving on as sophomore defensive end Re'shon Howard accepts a full scholarship to continue his athletic and academic careers at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minn., according to OCC head coach Kevin Emerson.

"It was a pleasure to coach such a great young man," Emerson said. "Re'shon was a never-quit athlete. Every play his motor was rolling. It was neat to see him develop this last year. His commitment to excellence has paid off. I am excited for him and his family and he deserves the very best."

Howard posted a very solid 2015 campaign for the Pirates. He finished tied for third on the team with 67 tackles (20 solo) and led the team with four sacks and added an interception to his resume'. Among his top games last year were an 11-tackle performance against Cerritos, a 10-tackle, one-sack night against Moorpark and a nine-tackle, 1.5-sack night against  Saddleback.

"I came to OCC to further my football career in a competitive environment and to further my education at a great facility," Howard said. "My experience at OCC was a great one. I had some great teammates and coaches that helped me grow as a person and as a player. I got a good education both on the field and in the classroom and I had a great time doing it."
